Allen Ginsberg Library

Naropa's IT Services Department will be working on upgrading our proxy server the afternoon of Wednesday, March 21st through the morning of Thursday, March 22nd. Access to Naropa research databases may be interrupted during this time. We apologize for the inconvenience and will work to keep the disruption to a minimum. Please contact with any concerns.

The Allen Ginsberg Library is your home library as a Naropa student, faculty member or employee. Our staff will orient you to the information resources available to you (including Norlin Library, the flagship library of the University of Colorado at Boulder) and assist you in your research projects.

We ensure access to the print and electronic reserve materials for your classes. We have a collection of more than 30,000 books and over 130,000 ebooks, periodicals and audiovisual materials – designed to comprehensively support the unique approach of Naropa’s courses of study. We also provide on-site and remote access to a core collection of online databases, full-text journals and finding aids.

If we don't have a book or journal article you need, the Allen Ginsberg Library can borrow the book or have a copy of the article sent from another library through our interlibrary loan service. Our commitment is to connect you with the information you want and need.

The Allen Ginsberg Library and the Naropa University Archives together form a unified Library and Archives department.

Center for Culture, Identity, & Social Justice Library

This branch is housed in the Center for Culture, Identity, & Social Justice and reflects Naropa’s commitment to social justice. It exists in order to further the community’s understanding of systems of oppression and privilege. Offering a diverse array of reading materials and films (on race, class, sexual orientation, ethnicity and more), from a diverse array of authors, this library shifts the normative story by centering the voices and perspectives that are often marginalized in society. As such, the library is always expanding, and recommendations are welcome!

Audiovisual Equipment

Current Naropa faculty, students and staff can borrow audiovisual equipment such as multimedia projectors, laptops, digital voice and video recorders, and more from the library. Library staff are available for consultations.
